Here’s the final standings from last season

redraft 2017

If it weren’t for ESPN telling me who won our league, I wouldn’t know who the current champ is. Fortunately, the app saves our league history so we can go back when we forget. Unfortunately, I’ll always get to see that last place finish.

For the time being, I have a daily reminder for everyone to see decorating the back of my beautiful Honda Accord. The belt’s most likely been dismantled and left at the bottom of Tempe Town Lake.

We’ve already had some good activity – Tyler Berry almost missed the draft, Leveon Bell might not show up until week 10, and full point kickers are garbage.

Ders – Going to try to ride Gurley in for his second straight championship, but the rest of his team is average, and until Mark Ingram comes back from suspension he doesn’t have another running back to start besides Ivory, a backup. Just looked at the rest of his bench and not seeing anyone worth starting. Maybe you’ll need that $84 early this year.

Weston – No longer a Cowboys fan, Weston is just trying to find his way in a world without Romo. David Johnson’s going to be a stud this year. Locked down the sketchy Andrew Luck to Hilton connection, bold strategy bud, we’ll see if it pays off. Meanwhile Josh Gordon just decided not to work out with his team for whatever reason, and now has a hammy issue so good luck with that. Is Jamaal Williams the lead back? Well Weston seems pretty damn sure after drafting him in the 4th round. Fun Fact, only 8/14 of his players (kickers aren’t players), played last year.

Tom – He loves RUTS, kickers, and having Leveon Bell sit indefinitely. One day after drafting, news comes out he might wait until week 10 to show up. Drafting Conner in the 8th looks better every day. ASJ sucks, Carlos Hyde gets to lose touches to the 2nd round rook and Duke so that’s not a great situation either.

Brendan – Bam Brendo going with that 0 RB strategy, but somehow snags a start-able for four weeks Mike Gillislee in the second to last round. Still don’t know how everyone missed him. Some high upside guys at least. Sad to say I think his team will be pretty good.

Tyler L – I don’t know if you’ve all actually seen Tyler’s team picture, but it’s weird. I get the horse thing, but strange. Anyway, Zeke should be solid and D Adams is looking like a touchdown machine. I’m not convinced any of those bench running backs are going to be good, but shooters shoot.

Carey – Has a lot of guys that have a lot of potential, in Kamara, Thompson, Green, Cooper, Crabtree. Can those guys meet that potential? Maybe, but probably not. Running backs would look a hell of a lot better in any sort of ppr, but having SIX running backs who’s roles are only to catch the ball in a standard league is risky and not what I want.

Steven – I really like that combo of Captain Kirk, Melvin Gordon and Devonta Freeman for some reason. Melvin Gordon is going to be a beast this year on a good team that loves him. The Kirk to Diggs connection is going to be a good one too. That second receiver spot is a little sketchy, but could work, and Eifert just needs to be on the field. Don’t think Dez is going to be relevant.

Tyler B – Almost full autodraft for T-Bear because of a crucial gym session, but glad he made it (even though he missed a few rounds). Julio and Keenan Allen are studs. Even though he didn’t want him, Breida could be good for him too. I think Drake and Henry are going to be frustrating to own with Gore and Lewis in their backfields, but at least they’re the main guys. Tyler’s team will inevitably be good for the first 6 weeks, then not good once bye weeks and injuries start up.

Brad W – Brad wishes this was PPR. Who knows how good Allen Robinson is going to be, but I’m not convinced Trubisky can be a good qb. Then again I didn’t expect the Goff jump either. Brad loves defense and kickers.

Xavi – What Kareem Hunt is going to show up this year? Is a healthy Spencer Ware going to eat into that workload? Love Deandre Hopkins, and think Lamar Miller and Alex Collins are going to be pretty consistent RB2s all season, but never great. The squad could work out. He picked up Greg the Leg, TE1/WR2 last year so he’ll probably win a couple weeks himself. Which is shit.

TJ – Jarvis Landry isn’t going to be good, because Tyrod isn’t good. Jack Doyle is the number 2 tight end on his own team, so not sure how that’ll work out. Dalvin Cook played well, but he’ll have to stay healthy, and Royce needs to take over the workload for this squad to work. No $84 Latavius Murray for Ders this year, TJ has that backfield locked up.

Brad L – Thank you everyone for letting me draft such a studly team. DT fell to the 5th round which was unexpected, but the upside is there. Trey Burton is the next Ertz. Bench is full of potential studs. I won’t be trading with Weston this year. Also going to give this lucky license plate cover to someone after it takes me to the ship. Thanks again broskis. Go Bills.
